Founded by Big 4 tax and accounting alumni, we bring over 17 combined years of experience to deliver reliable and knowledgeable accounting, tax, and consulting services to small businesses in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding communities.

KAROLYN DIAZ | CPA, MBA

  • Karolyn Diaz is a co-founder of Diaz & Romo CPA and a licensed CPA in Texas offering a wide range of bookkeeping and accounting services to small businesses. 

    Karolyn has over 10 years of accounting experience serving clients with revenues up to $30 billion. Her experience includes working in the assurance practice at PwC, one of the top, Big 4 global accounting firms. She was at PwC for 8 years managing the audits of both public and private companies. Her expertise includes examining the efficiency and reliability of a company’s operating environment and its impact on financial reporting.

    In addition to PwC, Karolyn worked at Embark as a consultant on their Financial Accounting Advisory Services team. As a consultant, she helped her clients navigate complex accounting challenges and improve their financial reporting process to provide reliable financial reports for management, lenders, and investors.

    Karolyn's entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found Diaz & Romo CPA, where she is dedicated to providing exceptional accounting services to small businesses.

SUSANA A. ROMO | CPA, MTax

  • Susana A. Romo is a licensed CPA specializing in generational wealth & tax planning for small business owners.

    Susana’s Big 4 experience includes serving high net worth individuals and family enterprises to optimize their tax strategy and preserve family wealth across generations. She served as the regional expert in gift and estate tax at both EY and PwC where she supported 20+ offices. She also partnered with EY’s National Tax Department, consulting senior private equity executives on how to improve their global tax strategy, including an inbound move comprised of comprehensive analysis of foreign companies and trust structures to establish optimal tax planning and reporting obligations. 

    In addition to public accounting, Susana worked in asset management where she built investment performance and financial reports for private equity investors. She also supported a seven-figure family bakery in Dallas with transferring leadership to the next generation and improving accounting, payroll, and vendor management processes.

    Devoted to bringing Big 4 expertise to the small business community, Susana co-founded the firm to empower everyday business owners and their family enterprises to increase financial preparedness and implement strategic plans for achieving generational wealth goals.
